EMAIL CAMPAIGNS
Sending letters and emails to elected
officials is one way to let them know your
preferences regarding U.S. involvement in protecting
the environment. To be most effective, your email or
letter should be clear, specific, and courteous.
To find the names and contact
information for elected officials in your own area,
use the search tool provided here.
Emails should be written to state authorities of
countries with rain forests urging them to prohibit
deforestation by law. Honor the ARPA agreement
(Amazon Region
Protected Areas program), stop the OCP oil pipeline, and
the "Avanca Brasil" project in the Amazon. Stop
German banks WestLB and RSGV financing and US oil
companies promoting the OCP pipeline (see
www.forests.org).
